Accommodation

The 6th Australasian Congress on Applied Mechanics (ACAM 6) will be held at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre (PCEC) which is situated in the Central Business District (CBD) of the beautiful city of Perth, within easy walking distance of the city's major hotels, business, restaurant and retail districts and a short walk from the banks of the iconic Swan River.

Maps showing the location of the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre in relation to local hotels and Perth city centre are given here and here. All bus and train journeys are free within the Free Tansit Zone (FTZ) which encompases most of Perth city centre including the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. For example, Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is served by the free Blue CAT Route which is a frequent bus service that operates within Perth city centre and links Perth Convention Exhibition Centre with the restaurant and nightlife area of Northbridge.

There are a large number of hotels available in Perth city centre within a short walk (5 - 15 mins) of the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre with prices typically starting at AU $150 per night during the conference period (although a small number of rooms are available starting from as little as AU $100). Accommodation in the city centre can be booked online from websites such as Hotel.com.au, Expedia.com.au, and through the accommodation websites listed at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre - be sure to book accommodation mentioned as being in Perth city centre or the CBD.

In addition, the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre is located next to the Esplanade (City) Busport and Esplanade Train Station and is thus conveniently located for most accommodation within central Perth, Fremantle, and the Perth suburbs. When considering accommodation outside of Perth city centre you may wish to consult the Transperth website which provides comprehensive free information on all modes of public transport within the Perth metro region and includes a Journey Planner that can be used to plan journeys between your accommodation and the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

Please contact the Organising Committee if you have any questions concerning accommodation.
